Dog Tricks

This is really cute (email forward). Tell him to sneeze and see what he does! Love it! I have no idea how they do this: Make sure your volume is turned on and TYPE IN a command and see what happens… sit, roll over, down, stand, sing, dance, shake, fetch, play dead etc. and… it’s also very cute if you type in a command that’s not recognized! Make sure you type in ‘Kiss’ too, but do it last.

Rusty, this looks like you. I bet you can do these tricks too!

God Wants Me To Tell You…

My Mom sent this to me on Saturday

GOD WANTS ME TO TELL YOU….

Everything that is going wrong in your life today shall be well with you
this year. You have been destined to make it and you shall surely achieve
all your goals this year. For the remaining months of this year (2008),
all your agonies will be diverted and victory and prosperity will be
incoming in abundance. Today God has confirmed the end of your sufferings,
sorrows, and pains because HE that sits on the throne has remembered you.
He has taken away the hardships and given you JOY. He will never let you down.
I knocked at heaven’s door this morning, God asked me… My child! What
can I do for you? And I said, ‘Father, please protect and bless the person
reading this message’… God smiled and answered… Request granted.

So now I am passing it on to you :)

p.s. I go to pick up my baby, Patch today.

We had him cremated with one of his babies and we will be keeping his ashes.

Happy Mother’s Day! I might not be by to visit as quick as I normally do-depends on how I am feeling. For those participants that know the stories about my 11 year old dalmatian, Patch~he crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge last Friday, May 9, 2008.

R.I.P. Patch

R.I.P. Patch

R.I.P. Patch

January 1, 1997 - May 9, 2008

My beloved Patch has left us to wait for us at The Rainbow Bridge. We had to put him down yesterday evening. We agreed that it was time…that he shouldn’t suffer anymore. His liver enzymes were 850-not sure what that means but I do know they should be around 100. When we went to see him before doing it-he came out wagging his tail: so hard for me because I start to second-guess myself. Then as I am hugging him and talking to him (with his head pushed into my chest) he starts to vomit (just the liquids he had in him from the IV). This is so hard to write-It is Saturday morning and I should be walking him. I can’t seem to write anymore about this right now! I need to work on a eulogy and someday I will write more about the experience we went through while at the vet. It was a good thing considering what we had to do.

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts, suggestions, prayers, and support! I so adore each and every one here for your love and dedication to your pets! They are our world and our children. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you!

Bless you!

Mad with barklove!

WOOF!

p.s. Just noticed the date on the pics-need to fix that on my camera-these were taken at the vet on 5-9-08.

I Need Some Sleep

I have been up all night with a few very short naps here and there. Patch isn’t doing well at all! Hopefully he will go back to Doc and Doc can get some fluids and/or food in him. Here is a song for all of you stopping by for some Blog Karaoke.

I Need Some Sleep

by The Eels

I need some sleep.
I can’t go on like this.
I try counting sheep,
But there’s one I always miss.

Everyone says I’m getting down too low
Everyone says: “You just gotta let it go”
“You just gotta let it go”
I just gotta let it go

I need some sleep
time to put the old horse down
I’m in too deep
and the wheels keep spinning round

Everyone says I’m getting down too low
Everyone says: “You just gotta let it go”
“You just gotta let it go”
I just gotta let it go

You just gotta let it go
You just gotta let it go
You just gotta let it go

Patch has Jaundice

Hello Blog Friends,

So sorry I haven’t been here to respond to comments or to post any Blog Karaoke! I am not in a singing mood right now! This is also me rambling on and I apologize in advance if it doesn’t make sense. It has been a rough night and I also just can’t seem to turn my leaky eyes off right now!

We took Patch, my 11 and a half year old dalmatian, to the Doc again today for his imazol shot! He has been diagnosed with ehrlichiosis, a tick born autoimmune disease. The treatment for this disease is antibiotics forever and a shot every month. The Doc mentioned that Patch needed to lose some weight to aid in his arthritis and/or difficulty to walk from the disease. Well, you asked for it Doc and you got it. He weighed 47 pounds today. That is entirely too much weight loss in such a little time! My poor baby is wasting away. He weighed 42 pounds when I got him almost 11 years ago.

The last two weeks he hasn’t hardly ate anything. I am usually good at checking on signs of various ailments he has but I feel soooooo horrible that I completely missed the sign of jaundice. We explained to the Doc his eating habits and that he was drinking plenty of water but his pee was bright yellow (a sign of hepatic failure). Doc lifts his eyelids back and wallah~his whites of his eyes are yellow. Doc said he has jaundice and hepatic liver. At that instant it was like his skin turned yellow immediately. While the Doc discussed with me what we need to do Patch got sick right there in the Doc’s office. It was just liquid with a piece of a milkbone. He also got sick in the car. Since we got home (about 5:30 p.m.) Patch has had straight up liquid poop and can’t control it. I have been scrubbing carpets, mopping floors, washing dog towels, and wiping Patch’s butt all evening. Doc said to give Patch Milk Thistle to aid with his liver. We got it but we can’t get him to take it-with anything-or even force it down. Aaaahhhh!

Doc said that if he isn’t holding down his water he would have to be brought back in and be put on an IV. Well either everything has hit tonight and/or he is having a major reaction to the shot. I just don’t know what to do! I am calling the Doc first thing in the morning (8:00 a.m.) and telling him Jedd will be bringing him in after he gets off of work (10:30 a.m.).

Please continue to pray for Patch right now and I would appreciate your prayers too as this is soooo difficult for me at such a crazy time too! I haven’t missed a day of work this year, but I am tempted to call in the morning and try to get a sub. When I do need a sub though for some reason our Sec. can’t seem to find one. Anywho~prayers for Patch are being accepted right now!

Thanks so much!

Mere

p.s. For those that don’t know what we have been through since Thanksgiving 2007 trying to figure out what is wrong with Patch, please read my Dogs page to catch up on all of the stories!

Why God Made Moms

Hump Day Humor is hosted by Mercedes at Mercedes Rocks!

WHY GOD MADE MOMS

Answers given by 2nd grade school children to the following questions:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She’s the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me.
   He just used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and everything
nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men’s bones.
Then they mostly use string, I think.

Why did God give you your mother and not some other mom?
1. We’re related.
2. God knew she likes me a lot more than other people’s moms like me.

What kind of little girl was your mom?
1. My Mom has always been my mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don’t know because I wasn’t there,
but my guess would be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

What did mom need to know about dad before she married him?
1. His last name.
2. She had to know his background.
Like is he a crook? Does he get drunk on beer?
3. Does he make at least $800 a year?
Did he say NO to drugs and YES to chores?

Why did your mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world.
And my Mom eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn’t have her thinking cap on.

Who’s the boss at your house?
1. Mom doesn’t want to be boss, but she has to because
   dad’s such a goof ball.
2. Mom. You can tell by room inspection.
She sees the stuff under the bed.
3. I guess Mom is, but only because she has
a lot more to do than dad.

What’s the difference between moms & dads?
1. Moms work at work and work at home and
dads just go to work at work.
2. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
3. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real power
’cause that’s who you got to ask if you want to
   sleep over at your friend’s.
4. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine .

What does your mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don’t do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your mom perfect?
1. On the inside she’s already perfect.
Outside, I think some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I’d diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean.
   I’d get rid of that.
2. I’d make my mom smarter Then she would know it was my
sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes
on the back of her head.

This song is for my Mom who is a huge Beatles Fan!

Your Mother Should Know

by The Beatles

Let’s all get up and dance to a song
that was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know
Your mother should know

Sing it again
Let’s all get up and dance to a song
that was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know
Your mother should know

Lift up your hearts and sing me a song
that was a hit before your mother was born
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know
Your mother should know
Your mother should know
Your mother should know

Da da da da da da da da da
da da da da da da da da da da da
Though she was born a long, long time ago
Your mother should know
Your mother should know
Your mother should know
Your mother should know
Your mother should know
Your mother should know

Leave the Pieces

by The Wreckers

You’re not sure that you love me
But you’re not sure enough to let me go
Baby it ain’t fair you know
To just keep me hangin’ ’round

You say you don’t wanna hurt me
Don’t want to see my tears
So why are you still standing here
Just watching me drown

[Chorus]
And it’s alright, yeah I’ll be fine
Don’t worry ’bout this heart of mine
Just take your love and hit the road
There’s nothing you can do or say
You’re gonna break my heart anyway
So just leave the pieces when you go

You can drag out the heartache
Baby you can make it quick
Really get it over with
And just let me move on

Don’t concern yourself
With this mess you’ve left for me
I can clean it up, you see
Just as long as you’re gone

[Chorus]

You not making up your mind
Is killing me and wasting time
I need so much more than that
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

[Chorus]

Leave the pieces when you go
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Leave the pieces when you go

Californiacation

Red Hot Chili Peppers

Psycic spies from China try to steal
your mind’s elation
Little girls from Sweden dream of
silver screen quotations
and if you want these kinds of dreams
it’s Californiacation

It’s the edge of the world and all of western civilization
The sun may rise in the east at least
it settled in a final location
It’s understood that Hollywood
sells Californiacation

Pay your surgeon very well
to break the spell of aging
Celebrity skin is this your chin
or is that what you’re waging

(Chorus)
First born Unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californiacation
Dream of Californiacation

Marry me girl, be the fairy to my world
Be my very own constellation
A teenage bride with a baby inside
getting high on information
and Buy me a star on the boulevard
It’s Californiacation

Space may be the final frontier
but it’s made in a Hollywood basement
Coban can you hear the speres
Singing songs off station to station
and Alderon’s not far away
It’s Californiacation

Born and raised by those who praise
Control the population
Everyone’s been there
and I don’t mean on vacation

(chorus)
Dream of Californiacation
Dream of Californiacation

- - - Bridge - - -

Destruction leads to a very rough road
but it also breeds creation
And earthquakes are to a girl’s gituar
their just another good vibration

Pay your surgeon very well
to break the spell of aging
Sicker than the rest
there is no test
for this is what your craving

(Chorus)
Dream of Californiacation
Dream of Californiacation

Seven Wonders

Fleetwood Mac

So long ago
Certain time
Certain place
You touched my hand
All the way
All the way down to emmiline
But if our paths never cross
Well you know I’m sorry but
If I live to see the seven wonders
Ill make a path to the rainbows end
Ill never live to match the beauty again
The rainbows end

So its hard to find
Someone with that kind of intensity
You touched my hand I played it cool
And you reached out your hand for me
But if our paths never cross
Well you know I’m sorry but
If I live to see the seven wonders
Ill make a path to the rainbows end
Ill never live to match the beauty again
The rainbows end

So long ago
Its a certain time
Its a certain place
You touched my hand and you smiled
All the way back you held out your hand
If I hope and I pray
Ooh it might work out someday
If I live to see the seven wonders
Ill make a path to the rainbows end
Ill never live to match the beauty again
The rainbows end

If I live to see the seven wonders
Ill make a path to the rainbows end
Ill never live to match the beauty again

If I live to see the seven wonders
Ill make a path to the rainbows end
Ill never live to match the beauty again

Had a Bad Day

Daniel Powter

Bad Day

Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to gray
They tell me your passion’s gone away
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You’re faking a smile with the coffee you go
You tell me your life’s been way off line
You’re falling to pieces every time
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

Because you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

Will you need a blue sky holiday?
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don’t need no carryin’ on

You had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don’t lie
You’re coming back down and you really don’t mind
You had a bad day

(Oooh.. a holiday..)

Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I’m not wrong

(yeah…)

So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost

Cause you had a bad day
You’re taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don’t know
You tell me don’t lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You’ve seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day

And this would be my Dad-LOL!

Frozen Peanut Butter Pie

Hosted by ME at Mercedes Rocks!

Scrumptious Sunday Tenth Edition: Theme~pies

Ingredients

1 2/3 cups chocolate graham cracker crumbs (about 8 1/2 cookie sheets)
7 tablespoons sugar, divided
2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
Cooking spray
1 1/4 cups fat-free milk
2/3 cup reduced-fat crunchy peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup (4 ounces) fat-free cream cheese, softened
1 (8-ounce) container frozen fat-free whipped topping, thawed
3 tablespoons finely chopped salted, dry-roasted peanuts
1/4 cup shaved milk chocolate (about 1 ounce)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

1. Combine crumbs, 3 tablespoons sugar, and egg whites; toss with a fork until moist. Lightly coat hands with cooking spray and press crumbs into bottom and up sides of a 9-inch deep-dish pie plate coated with cooking spray. Prick crust with a fork before baking. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Remove from oven; cool on a wire rack.

2. Combine milk and remaining 1/4 cup sugar in a heavy saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook 2 minutes or until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly; transfer mixture to a bowl. Add peanut butter and vanilla, stirring with a whisk until combined. Cover and chill 30 minutes.

3. Place cream cheese in a large bowl, and beat with a mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add milk mixture, beating on low speed until combined. Fold in whipped topping; pour mixture into prepared pie crust. Filling may be thin after mixing but will harden in the freezer.

4. Freeze, uncovered, 8 hours or overnight or until hard. Sprinkle with peanuts and shaved chocolate. Transfer pie to refrigerator 30 minutes before slicing.

Sweet Home Alabama

This is for you, Nevis!

My best friend is from Alabama and this is the ringtone I hear when she calls me-lol!

Sweet Home Alabama

by Bama Boyz

[Verse 1: B.A.M.A.]
Y’all know who run this here baby, Yeah, put them
A’s up! Where you from boy?
Sweet home Alabama, leep chrome in the seat homie watch yo manners
I…cook beef when I cock the hammer
Home of the wood, weed, rocks and gamblers
And uh… ain’t nobody speakin’ proper grammar down here
It’s deep but the sound is clear
We got freaks with the roundest rears
And the beats so sweet like a Swisher, got me clownin’ here…holla
Dear dollar come and bless my stack
Come follow where the best is at
We live hotter than the spot where ya pop got arrested at
You will not want to mess with that…then slide
Crimson Tide, rims and ridaz
I blow limbs on the porch till I’m crimson fried
Then lied when they said BAMA boys wasn’t comin’
With the heat, so you better shake somethin’ break somethin’

[Chorus]
Sweet Home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord I’m comin’ home to you

[Verse 2: B.A.M.A.]
My state got weight on a thousand blocks
Interstate 65, get around them cops
Not about to stop, got a house to cop
Clubs full of thick chicks with no bouse and tops
Man the south…is hot like a bowl of grits
We ain’t broke, big-shot what you supposed to fix
So sick, throw rims on an old V-6
And drop big block hemis in an oldie quick…BIATCH
Sittin’ in a tonka toy, slumped
Pimped out Willie Wonka, boy funk
You ain’t never got crunk bfore
Until u tear the club down with the country boyz
I pump noise in the club like 2 18’s
Too late, break the scene if you ain’t clean
Go back and get yo ride painted
It’s pride ain’t it
334 to 205, so why taint it

[Chorus]

[Verse 3: B.A.M.A.]
Bama chicks stay fly from head to toe
Energized on so much jive, you’ll neva know
Lean out the ride, let it go…bet it fa sho
That everything from their eyes to their necks will roll
Correct bro..so I’ma let you know
Way trained to collect dough…undetectable
Rest assured on that, keep her lip on wrap
And keep a super tight grip on ya stack (you’ll be aight though)
It’s where the skies are blue…and the, wood is green and it’s fire too
Prior to what you thought we the size of you
We like a rain drop on a mountain dew
Bounce to what I spit and I’m bouncin’ too
I rep “A” to the grave, cause I’m down for you…BAMA

[Chorus] - to end

Only God Knows Why

I have signed up to do NaBloPoMo for the month of May. The theme is Voices. Not really sure why I am taking on this challenge at such a busy time of the school year, but I did-aaahhhhh! I’m also not sure what I am going to do with this theme. My thoughts on this theme: songs I love or that mean something to me, Out of the Mouths of Babes, or Quotes. I plan on recording Patch, my 11 year old dalmatian, talking and singing in the near future. I also may just post everyday and not worry about the theme. Any ideas, thoughts, or suggestions? Here is a post re-visited for ya!

Kid Rock - Only God Knows Why

*Explicit Lyrics*

Only God Knows Why

I’ve been sittin here
Tryin to find myself
I get behind myself
I need to rewind myself
Lookin for the payback
Listen for the playback
They say that every man bleeds just like me
And I feel like number one
Yet I’m last in line
I watch my youngest son
And it helps to pass the time
I take too many pills it helps to ease the pain
I made a couple of dollar bills, but still I feel the same
Everybody knows my name
They say it way out loud
A lot of folks f*** with me
It’s hard to hang out in crowds
I guess that’s the price you pay
To be some big shot like I am
Out stretched hands and one night stands
Still I can’t find love
And when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be around
Yeah
As it…hey
And when your walls come tumbling down
I will always be around
People don’t know about the things I say and do
They don’t understand about the shit that I’ve been through
It’s been so long since I’ve been home
I’ve been gone, I’ve been gone for way too long
Maybe I forgot all things I miss
Oh somehow I know there’s more to life than this
I said it too many times
And I still stand firm
You get what you put in
And people get what they deserve
Still I ain’t seen mine
No I ain’t seen mine
I’ve been giving just ain’t been gettin
I’ve been walking that there line
So I think I’ll keep a walking
With my head held high
I’ll keep moving on and only God knows why
Only God
Only God
Only God knows why, why, why, why
Only God…knows…why, why, why
Only God knows why
Take me to the river edge
Take me to the river, hey hey hey

I absolutely love this song. It has sooo many truths to it! It is also a good rock-n-roll jammin’ song. I love blarin this song with the windows down and singing right along with it. I am the best darn singer around when I am in my car. I’m not too bad at car-dancing either. Anywho-this song just brings all sorts of feelings to surface for me and lets me let it all out. I can listen to it every day. I just jam away and forget about everything around me. I think about keeping my head held high and not worrying about everybody else-because they don’t have a clue-ONLY GOD KNOWS WHY!

I finally decided what I was going to do with this letters theme for NaBloPoMo (Blogthings-one a day for each letter consecutively)

I forgot to post these E quizes along with the other E quiz on E day and had one day left-how convenient-lol

Extra Letters that aren’t Blogthings quizes just thrown in here and there
