I plan to do a post for each day we were gone-detailing our events. I hope everyone has received their postcards…or will be receiving them soon. If you requested one from Asheville-It is going to be mailed from my house-couldn’t get Jedd to stop today to drop them off from there-aaahhh! I also sent some to my dog buddies too! This is the first time I have ever sent off postcards-I hope I knew what I was doing-lol! I want to thank Gina for helping me with my blog when I was gone-I so much appreciate her! So glad to be back-I think-lol! Looking forward to catching up with everyone! I hope all was well in your world. Love You All! Mercedes!

Patch’s Last Moments

I kept saying I was going to video Patch singing and talking and I never did. 😦 I did video him one time-the first and last time. I am not very good at videoing-as you will see. You will also get to hear my lovely Southern accent as I talk and sing to Patch. This movie is 2:22 long.

I found the video (the one I tried to post last week) on YouTube!

How Do I Live Without You

School is out for summer and I should be so excited, but I am having a difficult time right at this very moment! I used to always work 2 or three jobs. I kinda wish I had another job right now. I know I have a million things I need to be doing around the house, but that is at the house-and I am alone when Jedd goes to work or goes golfing! Ok-had to let it all out right now! Thanks so much for all of your prayers and support! Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Click here to watch the video-you will need Media Player (I believe) to watch it.

Come on back and let me know what you think!

I am having a little technical difficulties with this-will try to get to work later.

Anyone know how to add a media player video by chance?

Don’t Yell Across the House

Dog Tricks

This is really cute (email forward). Tell him to sneeze and see what he does! Love it! I have no idea how they do this: Make sure your volume is turned on and TYPE IN a command and see what happens… sit, roll over, down, stand, sing, dance, shake, fetch, play dead etc. and… it’s also very cute if you type in a command that’s not recognized! Make sure you type in ‘Kiss’ too, but do it last.

Rusty, this looks like you. I bet you can do these tricks too!

I Will Remember You!

I have so much I wanna tell you all-but I just can’t seem to do it right now! I have been so busy and when I am home-it is up and down for us. This song is for you Patch! I miss you so much! R.I.P. Patch!

R.I.P. Patch

January 1, 1997 – May 9, 2008

My beloved Patch has left us to wait for us at The Rainbow Bridge. We had to put him down yesterday evening. We agreed that it was time…that he shouldn’t suffer anymore. His liver enzymes were 850-not sure what that means but I do know they should be around 100. When we went to see him before doing it-he came out wagging his tail: so hard for me because I start to second-guess myself. Then as I am hugging him and talking to him (with his head pushed into my chest) he starts to vomit (just the liquids he had in him from the IV). This is so hard to write-It is Saturday morning and I should be walking him. I can’t seem to write anymore about this right now! I need to work on a eulogy and someday I will write more about the experience we went through while at the vet. It was a good thing considering what we had to do.

Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts, suggestions, prayers, and support! I so adore each and every one here for your love and dedication to your pets! They are our world and our children. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you!

Bless you!

Mad with barklove!

p.s. Just noticed the date on the pics-need to fix that on my camera-these were taken at the vet on 5-9-08.

Patch Is My Sunshine

Happy Birthday Message

Gina at Gina’s Public Diary, my wonderful blogging buddy who is also from Tennessee-woohoo, has posted a wonderful Happy Birthday post to me! My comment to the post was so long, I thought I would also post it here. Here is my response!

Thank you so much! *sniff-tears of joy*
I have been having the wrong sleeping patterns-sleeping for about 3-4 hours and getting up at midnight-sh and staying up for 2-3 hours then going back to sleep for a couple of hours-bad me!

Well I had to get back up to make my birthday cupcakes for school. You know how the birthday person always brings cupcakes-I do too. My Mom usually makes them for me, but I decided to this year. When I was very young-like 5 years old, my Mom made me my birthday cake: Cherry Chip Cake with cherry frosting. I loved it! I said then: “I will have this kind of cake every year from now on. Well I have. One year I ended up with three: my Mom, my aunt, and my Granny all made me one. Only one place in or town still sells this cake mix and frosting-thank goodness! Well~I’m up making my traditional “cake” into cupcakes-lol!

When I first woke up-Patch was awake and up. Looking really good! 🙂 I asked him did he need to go outside or was he just wanting to sing me Happy Birthday. You wouldn’t believe how he started talking. He wanted to sing Happy Birthday and he did a wonderful job of it! Then I took him outside-he was running me around-woohoo! The shot he got today must be the Wonder Dog Shot (Imizol)! My Patchy Poo has made it to my birthday! I am so ecstatic! And then I come over here and see this! I believe this is the best birthday ever and it is only 1:00 a.m!

Gina~thanks again! You are a wonderful friend. And since my comment is pretty long-I believe I will copy, paste, and post to my blog-lol!

BTW~I am 36 years old. All of my students know this, but I told them that if anyone asks tomorrow to tell them I am 29 years old. I’m such a good teacher: teaching my students to lie-lol! It ought to be fun to see what they say tomorrow-hehe!

Thanks to everyone here for my happy birthday wishes!
Happy With Bark Love!

p.s. It is also another one of my blog buddy’s birthday today! I will like to shout out to Fighting Windmills and wish her a Happy Birthday too! Happy Birthday Fighting Windmills! Since I am only 29 (wink) You must be 22 years old-lol! Hope you have a great one!

What walks on four legs, runs in a 1, 150-mile race, detects bombs, tracks, bad guys, and still enjoys an afternoon of chasing Frisbees? It’s Canis familiaris, otherwise know as the dog. Whether a mutt or purebred, the domestic dog has been part of human society for thousands of years. W is for Woof: A Dog Alphabet offers a canine course through simple rhymes accompanied by informative, entertaining sidebar text. Subject matter includes behavior, obedience, training, grooming, and health care. After reading W is for Woof, you will have a better understanding of what makes “Rover” tick from the top of his head to the tip of his tail.

I am participating in NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month-is now going on every month) for the month of April. The theme is letters.

I will be reading this book to my Kindergarten class. We will start when we return from Spring Break and will read one letter a day. This book will go along with our Service Learning Project which will also start after Spring Break. We (Kindergarten) will be learning about animals & pets and we will have a guest speaker from the two local animal shelters visit us. Then we are going to make posters to put around the school and in the surrounding community asking for donations for the Animal Shelters.
I thought about sharing the book here on my blog one letter a day, but I wasn’t sure about copyright laws and such. I really wanted to do this, but now I think I have changed my mind. Now I have decided to do Blogthings Alphabet-Style. You know how I like to play games-lol! Do you have any input, thoughts, or ideas for me? Edited: I am doing Blogthings-I have already found all but 1 letter-lol.
